Hi. I am back after my unanticipated and unavoidable hiatus. I have missed all of you so very much. And I have also missed blogging. I am so sorry about my absence. I am trying to join the service and since my last post I have been doing all that I can do to be the best that I can be. ( I am not altogether certain that I am worthy to join America's finest; however, I really want to be.) Therefore, I have been very busy trying to work towards these ends.
Nevertheless, right now I have some exciting news to tell all of you about. So without further ado... please allow me to tell you about the exciting opportunity to become "America's Next Great Band". Also, American Idol is auditioning very soon. The following contains all of the details about how to audition for both of these amazing opportunities:
According to: http://www.myspace.com/americanband , The producers of "American Idol" are searching for: "The Next Great American Band". At the aforementioned myspace page, you
can "submit your band's video for a shot at fame and fortune". Please click on that link to find out about everything you need to know about this exciting new show (and how you and your band can have a chance to try to win it).
To enter to win, submit your video here ( this is a link to their application page). Information that is available on that page will guide you through that process. If the producers really like what they see they will contact you.
Or, download the application form here , fill out this application, and mail it in with a DVD copy of your audition video to:

You only need to submit your audition DVD in one of the aforementioned ways. Furthermore, please check out the submission rules and eligibility requirements before you submit. The deadline for submissions is JULY 31, 2007.

american idol is going to be a tough contest! it is going to attract nation's best talent.
what has to be the video length to be uploaded?
Also if the video is not selected the DVD would be returned ?

You also asked some very good questions. Here are the answers that I was able to find:
The American Idol auditions are in person only. I am sorry if what I wrote was confusing. Just to clarify: Both the Next Great American Band & the American Idol are produced by the same people. This post highlights the fact that both are currently auditioning. However, where the two auditions differ is that the Next Great American Band accepts DVDS; and the American Idol auditions are in person only.
If you are thinking about auditioning for the Next Great American Band, they do keep all submissions that are sent to them and consider them to be their property at that point. I was reading their submission rules and I didn't see any length requirements. You can view them for yourself at: http://www.americanidol.com/media/news/casting/guidelines.pdf .
You are right; the American Idol should accept DVDs for their auditions. Unfortunately, they do not. You have to go in person, In their rules and guidelines, they give helpful information like telling people to register 2 days before the actual audition because if you wait until the audition day you will have to wait for a long time.
