http://mancc.org/content/view/61/33/ - Choreographers might be very interested in this link for the MANCC Choreographic Fellowships. The Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography (MANCC) offers Choreographic Fellowships to professional choreographers, allowing them to conduct their own creative research. This is how the program is described on their website:
" Artists are free to maximize the use of the center’s facilities and other resources, including technology. Choreographers are encouraged to take full advantage of MANCC’s laboratory environment in whatever way most useful to their own artistic development. This might involve the testing of new ideas on professional dancers, the inclusion of audiences in the creative process, or the development of dialogue about their work. Through a formal Request for Proposals, artists are asked to describe how they would use the MANCC facilities and a stipend of $10,000. Choreographers may work alone, or they may bring their own dancers, musicians and/or other collaborating artists. The length of the residency is at the discretion of the artist, but is typically two to three weeks. As part of the fellowships, MANCC asks artists to provide multiple entrypoints for audiences. Artists are invited to share their choreographic process with one or more of MANCC’s target audiences: Florida State University (students, staff, and faculty), the greater Tallahassee community. Rather than the usual lectures and master classes, artists are encouraged to form intimate interactions that are engaging rather than presentational only. However, the format and timing are determined by the artist, and supports his or her own process. Choreographic Fellowship Selection Process: Up to six choreographers are selected annually. Artists are nominated by peers in the field each April and approximately 15 are invited to apply each May through an RFP process. Final decisions are made in August by MANCC staff in conjunction with a panel of national constituents. Choreographic Fellowship Selection Criteria: In no particular order:
Artistic merit and evidence of national significance
Timeliness of support in an artist’s career
Articulated understanding of the MANCC research opportunity
Proposed budget – resourcefulness in use of $10,000
Project feasibility and resourcefulness in use of time at MANCC
Creativity of proposed entry points for MANCC constituents
Choreographic Fellowship Eligibility:
U.S. based professional choreographers
Project must take place at MANCC facility in Tallahassee, Florida
Choreographer may not be a full-time student or full-time/tenure track faculty member at a college or university, or be currently employed by Florida State University ."
To contact MANCC or join their mailing /emailing list: (call) (850)-645-2894; or (email) info@mancc.org . More information can also be found on their FAQ page:

www.danceusa.org/our_members/news.htm - At the very end of this page, there is information about the 50 $50,000 USA Fellowships. According to this:
"America's finest living artists now have a new home where they may find unprecedented private funding. USA is a new nonprofit organization, launched in September 2005 with $20 million in seed funding from a coalition of leading foundations. The long-term vision of the organization is to 'ignite the creativity that makes this country great while building a permanent endowment to support artists' work in perpetuity.'
USA Fellows, the organization's first program, will annually award 50 grants of $50,000 each. The fellowships are designed to function as 'research and development' funding or 'venture capital' for the imagination of artists by encouraging recipients to test new ideas and applications in their work.
Fellowships will be awarded across a broad array of disciplines---Architecture, Design, and Fashion, Crafts and Traditional Arts, DANCE, Literature(fiction, nonfiction, and poetry): Media Arts(film, media, and radio): Music; Performing Arts (performance art and theater): and the Visual Arts. "The National Dance Project (NDP) provides a system of support for the living, growing discipline of contemporary dance, by supporting the production and distribution of dance in the United States. NDP views touring as central to the vitality of dance as an art form, and structures its granting process to link the creation and touring of new work. Through the dedicated efforts of dance presenters across the country, NDP helps audiences connect with the rich and varied talents of choreographers and their companies...
Individuals may nominate projects to receive two types of NDP grants:
NDP Production Grants annual deadline: April 1 (or first business day thereafter)
NDP Touring Grants annual deadline: November 1(or first business day thereafter)
Every season, NDP awards 15-20 Production Grants, which typically range from $15,000-$35,00 each. Because NDP views touring as essential to the vitality of dance as an art form, NDP Production Grants are awarded in conjunction with NDP Touring support, which assists a tour of the new work in the season following the work's creation.
NDP Touring Grants support the distribution and presentation (touring) of NDP-funded projects, and projects selected to receive NDP Tour Only support (awarded to projects created without a NDP Production Grant that are complete and ready to tour nationally)"

Video submissions and application forms are now being accepted at thelot.com. Applicants must submit a self-directed short film, up to five minutes in length, that may be shown on the website on a future date.

ON THE LOT, executive-produced by Mark Burnett and Steven Spielberg, will give aspiring filmmakers from around the world the chance to earn a $1-million development deal at DreamWorks.

Airing next spring on FOX, this unscripted series will feature a cast of 16 undiscovered filmmakers who will compete to win the support of the show's viewers, as their fate will be decided by a weekly audience vote.

The competition will air over two nights weekly, with a one-hour "Film Premiere" episode, followed the next night by a half-hour "Box Office" results show.

After a global search, applicants will be winnowed to a group of 16 talented filmmakers. These finalists will be brought to Hollywood, where they will be divided into teams and begin the journey toward their "big break."

Every week, the hopeful filmmakers will produce short films from a chosen genre, running the gamut from comedies to thrillers, personal dramas to romance, sci-fi to horror. They'll have access to the best resources the industry has to offer -- professional writers, cast and crew, and maybe even Hollywood celebrities.

After the teams have battled time frames, budgets and all the usual chaos that goes along with filmmaking, their films will debut and be critiqued in front of a live audience during the "Film Premiere" episode. Judges will include a high-ranking motion picture executive, a prominent film critic and a succession of well-respected guests, such as directors who are experts in the week's featured genre. But the filmmakers ultimately will be judged by the harshest critics of all … the public.

It will be FOX viewers whose votes determine which film should be left on the cutting-room floor. On the next night's "Box Office" results show, the director whose feature garners the fewest votes will be sent home.

The competition continues and directors are eliminated until only the most talented filmmaker is anointed the winner and heads to DreamWorks … ON THE LOT.

Welcome back. Starting with this post and for a few subsequent posts I will reveal my BIG FAll ROUND-UP OF OPPORTUNITIES for: COMEDIANS,DANCERS,CHEFS,MUSICIANS & SONGWRITERS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, ARTISTS & ARTISANS, FASHION DESIGNERS,GRAPHIC ARTISTS/DIGITAL & GENERAL DESIGNERS, ARCHITECTS & URBAN PLANNERS/DESIGNERS, WRITERS, WRITERS, FILMMAKERS, SCREENWRITERS/PLAYWRITERS, ACTORS AND ALL OTHER CREATIVE PROFESSIONS. As always, these opportunities will include the most prestigious, lucrative, and gratifying prizes, competitions & awards. I have changed things around a little. Change is good right? (I hope.) The changes are explained in the following:
I have decided to finally follow blogger etiquette and make smaller posts and post them more often. This should ensure that all of the opportunities are as fresh as possible. Furthermore, it will be easier for each profession to get right to the opportunities that apply to them. ( In the past I had decided that since so many opportunities were multidisciplinary that I should post all opportunities at once. With this new change; however, I hope that all creative professionals will look at opportunities outside of their profession because there are many opportunities that are multi-disciplinary.)In the future, I might even give my blog a new face-lift.
I hope that all of you enjoy these new changes. But I would really appreciate your feedback. Do you like it this way? Or did you like it better the other way? Are there any types of opportunities that you want to find out about that I haven't already included? Also, do you know of any other competitions that you would like me to include? Or would you like to exchange links; if so, please contact me at: theprize@rediffmail.com .
Okay, so for this post I will include some incredible opportunities for comedians, such as the following:
